Birch Wood “Blessed Assurance” Hymn Sign

$20.00

This beautiful wood sign has the hymn page laser etched in birch wood with laser cut words overlaying the page.

History of the hymn:
Fanny Crosby was born in New York in 1820 and was an American mission worker, poet, lyricist, and composer. She one of the most prolific hymnists to have lived. She was blind since she was six weeks old, lost her father at six months old, and was raised by her mother and grandmother. Throughout her life, she wrote over 8,000 hymns, and some of her most famous hymns were dictated almost as fast as the words could be taken down. While visiting a friend, Fanny’s friend played a new melody on the piano that she had just composed. When she asked Fanny, “What do you think the tune says?”, she replied, “Blessed assurance; Jesus is mine.”
