Electroformed Labradorite Crescent Moon Pendant Necklace on Soldered Copper Chain
The moon is so powerful, it is responsible for moving oceans, the ocean tides and for the growth of plants, and we as humans are also affected by this powerful energy. The moon is one of our most prominent and ancient symbols. It has shaped how we understand and track time, its movement controls the tides, and its rise into the sky signals the coming of night.
The flash on this stone is nothing short of extrordinary! Labradorite was named for where it was first found, the Labrador Peninsula in Canada. Legend claims that the northern lights were trapped in the rocks along the coasts of the peninsula. A drifting Eskimo warrior found these rocks and freed the lights with his spear. Many of these lights are still trapped within the stone today, giving the stone mesmerizing shimmer and flash.

The scientific and intricate process used to add layers of lovely copper is called electroforming. This process can be unpredictable and can take hours to days to complete just one wearable. There may be small perfect imperfections in the copper and it may darken over time. Each piece has been cleansed and sealed.
MergingMetals creates unique and unconventional wearables, each lovingly handcrafted and made with purpose. They hand patina, polish, and apply a metal sealant to each item. From start to finish each piece takes 4 to 6 days to complete. A lot of love goes into each and every piece they create.
