A brief bit of coffee history behind the name: The “Mocha” is named for where the coffee of Yemen was first traded at the ancient port of Mocha (or Moka/Mocca) hundreds of years ago. “Java” represents the then-Dutch colony where coffee was also grown on a commercial basis in the 18th century. The two coffees were then blended together andJoe Van Gogh has “Mocha Java”, the world’s oldest recorded coffee blend!
